Bambu Lab PETG Basic
The all-new Bambu Lab PETG Basic has been upgraded to provide strength on par with PLA while retaining its characteristic toughness. This makes it ideal for structural and functional parts that need to withstand higher loads without becoming brittle.
With improved resistance to water, UV, and temperature, it remains an excellent choice for outdoor accessories, functional tools, and models for everyday use. The refined formulation also enhances printability by reducing stringing and providing a smoother surface finish.
Stronger than ever – and still tough
Thanks to the upgraded formula, Bambu Lab PETG Basic now matches the strength of PLA Basic, while retaining the toughness necessary to absorb impact. It can handle greater loads and stress than before, making it particularly well-suited for structural household parts and practical tools such as holders, wall hooks, brackets, and clips.

Comparison of Mechanical Properties
| Property | Bambu PETG Basic | Bambu PETG HF | Bambu PLA Basic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strength (Flexural Strength – XY) | 75 MPa | 64 MPa | 76 MPa |
| Layer Strength (Flexural Strength – Z) | 56 MPa | 48 MPa | 59 MPa |
| Toughness (Impact Strength – XY) | 34.2 kJ/m² | 31.5 kJ/m² | 20.6 kJ/m² |
A cost-effective choice for outdoor printing
Developed for long-lasting performance in outdoor environments, Bambu Lab PETG Basic combines durability with affordability. Its high resistance to water, UV, and temperature makes it a highly cost-effective solution for outdoor applications. From garden labels to bathroom accessories, it is a practical and budget-friendly choice for prints that need to withstand everyday conditions.

Less Stringing, Superior Surfaces
The refined formulation reduces stringing thanks to lower moisture sensitivity compared to typical PETG filaments, resulting in smoother surfaces and sharper details.

RFID for intelligent printing
All print parameters are embedded in the RFID and can be read by the Bambu Lab AMS (Automatic Material System). Simply insert the filament and print – no more tedious setup steps.

Printing Tips & Installation Guide
1. Dry before use for higher print quality. If PETG Basic has been exposed to air with relative humidity above 50% for more than 72 hours, it must be thoroughly dried before printing to ensure optimal print quality.
- Hot air oven: 65°C for 8 hours
- X1 Series, P Series & H2 Series heated bed: 80°C for 12 hours
- AMS 2 Pro & AMS HT: 65°C for 8 hours
- Recommended print & storage humidity: <20% RH (sealed with desiccant)
2. PETG Basic adheres strongly to PEI plates. After printing, allow the build plate to cool before removing the model to avoid damaging the bottom surface.
