The brand new double-sided print plates offer fantastic opportunities to add detail to your 3D prints.

All plates have one side that is PEI sprayed, so you get the same surface as the printer originally has.
The other sides have either PET, PEO or PEI surfaces.

How to use a PEO/PET/PEI plate?

  1. Make sure the build plate is level (adjust the distance between the nozzle and the hotend to approx. A4 paper thickness).

  2. We recommend the following printing temperatures:
  • PLA: 60°C
  • PETG: 70-80°C
  • ABS: 90-100°C
  1. Start printing on PET and PEO sheets. The temperature of the hotend can be set to 40°C-80°C depending on the actual situation (PEO/PET must not exceed 80°C).
    • The PEI sheet can operate at 160°C-180°C for extended periods, but must not exceed 200°C.
  2. Remove the plate and bend it slightly to easily remove the model.

What are the differences between PET / PEO and PEY surfaces?

PET:
The advantage of printing on a PET plate is that the print adheres extremely well, even though the plate is smooth. This allows you to achieve a Carbon look on the side of your print that faces down on the print plate.

The PET plate works with PLA/PETG.

PEO:
When you print on a PEO surface, you get the same good properties as on a PET plate. The biggest difference comes in the structure the 3D print gets on the side attached to the plate.

With the PEO plate, you get a star-like pattern:

The surface is smooth and provides a great result on the finished 3D print.

The PEO plate works with PLA/PETG

PEY:
With a PEY plate, you get something completely unique!
The surface is smooth and has a star pattern that transfers to the underside of the 3D print.
This is especially great if you print large surfaces, letters, house numbers or anything else where you want a special finish on your 3D print.

The PEY plate works with PLA/PETG/TPU

The plates are supplied without the magnetic base, so they can only be used on printers that are originally supplied with a PEI sheet.

NOTE. Kobra 2 Pro has a PEI plate of 23x23 cm, which means that a 22x22 PEI plate will not go all the way to the edge, this does not matter for the printer as long as you do not print to the edge.
