Panchroma™ Matte Pastel PLA is a bioplastic-based 3D printing filament, developed from the ground up to create the next generation of PLA. It combines ease of use, high print quality, speed and reliability.

Panchroma™ Matte was previously called PolyTerra PLA – the same beautiful colors and the same good print surface, just under a more understandable product name.

Print requirements
None! It works great on any standard 3D printer.

However, if you are using an older printer model, it is recommended to print slower.

Please note that Panchroma™ Matte is a bit more abrasive than standard glossy PLA. If you print a lot with it, it may be beneficial to upgrade to a hardened nozzle.

Coil dimensions

  • Inner hole diameter: 55 ± 1 mm

  • Coil diameter: 200 ± 1 mm

  • Coil width: 65.6 ± 2 mm

  • Spool weight: 140 ± 7 g

FAQ - Panchroma™ Matte Pastel PLA

Is there a difference between Panchroma™ Matte PLA and PolyTerra™ PLA?
No! It's the same good material – just under a new product name.

Is Panchroma™ Matte more abrasive than regular glossy PLA?
Yes, Panchroma™ Matte is a bit more abrasive – but not to the point where a hardened nozzle is required. However, if you print a lot with Panchroma™ Matte, it may be beneficial to upgrade to a hardened nozzle for longer durability.

Is Panchroma™ Matte PLA biodegradable?
The short answer is no – it will not decompose simply by throwing it into the environment. Panchroma™ Matte PLA requires special conditions to decompose, which can be achieved in industrial composting facilities.
We have developed a formula that can degrade faster than regular PLA while maintaining excellent printing properties. It is a step towards improving the lifecycle of PLA in our industry.
(See composting report and more detailed information here).

Is the material food safe?
Unfortunately, we have no data to confirm that this material is food safe. Currently, no 3D printing materials on the market are FDA-approved as food safe.
The reason is that it is not the raw material that is certified, but the finished object. Factors such as shape, print bed, the environment it is manufactured in, etc. come into play. Therefore, there is currently no real FDA certification for 3D printing.

Is the material AMS compliant?
Yes! All Panchroma™ coils now have reinforced edges that work optimally in AMS systems.

Do you sell refills?
Unfortunately – we do not offer refills at this time.

Is the material recyclable?
Unfortunately, there is no good solution for recycling PLA at the moment. Our cardboard spools are biodegradable, but the PLA itself cannot be easily recycled.

What is Panchroma™?
Panchroma™ is a new family of polymer composites based on PLA. The formulations are customized for each color and surface finish to deliver the best aesthetics and printability.
They can be printed reliably on any FFF/FDM printer with standard PLA settings.
All Panchroma™ products are PLA, except those marked as “experimental”.

Can I mix different effects in a HueForge print?
Yes! This material can be combined with all other Panchroma™ effects, except those listed as “experimental”.

Are Polymaker coils compatible with AnyCubic ACE?
Some users have experienced compatibility issues - results may vary.
