Prusament PLA Marble
Marble-like PLA filament
PLA - THE EASIEST MATERIAL TO PRINT
It is affordable and suitable for both beginners and experienced users. It is capable of printing detailed models, figures, and rapid prototypes that do not require increased mechanical, chemical, or temperature resistance. PLA is the most widely used filament, known for its attractive appearance and ease of printing. It is an excellent choice for large objects due to its low thermal expansion, which results in minimal deformation. At the same time, its low melting point also makes it suitable for small parts. While PLA may not be as strong or durable as some advanced materials, its versatility makes it ideal for a variety of applications, including large objects, miniatures, conceptual models, and prototypes that do not need to be extremely durable.
What can you expect?
Prusament PLA is our own filament, manufactured in-house. The entire production process is carefully monitored and tested – we guarantee a precision of ±0.02 mm (±0.03 for blends) and very consistent colors. You can inspect the parameters of every single spool we produce on prusament.com. Check out the sample spool!
Manufactured in-house by Josef Prusa
We were not satisfied with the quality of filaments available on the market. So we decided to make our own! Prusa Research is the only 3D printer manufacturer with its own filament production.
Premium quality materials and thorough testing
The entire production process is carefully monitored and tested – thread thickness, color consistency, and mechanical properties – to ensure that every single spool is perfect.
±0.02 mm guaranteed production precision
We believe that the industry standard of 0.05 mm is not sufficient for perfect 3D printing. That's why we guarantee ±0.02 mm precision (±0.03 for blends) and very consistent colors in our filaments.
High quality you can check yourself
We are the only manufacturer that allows you to inspect the parameters of each filament spool. Scan a QR code on the spool to see all details online (check out the sample spool).

Basic Properties

Tips and tricks for beginners
Popular among both beginners and experienced users
PLA is the easiest filament we make. It's reliable and requires no special print preparations or complicated post-processing methods. If you're new to 3D printing, it's best to start with PLA before moving on to other materials.
Sanding
For post-processing PLA, wet sanding is the best choice. Without water, you'll quickly heat the plastic through friction, causing it to locally melt and deform. Additionally, the abrasive material will easily clog without water.
Gluing
PLA can be glued with many different types of adhesive. We recommend using super glue for most parts. Certain PLA filaments can also be glued with acetone, but this largely depends on the additives and colors used.
Notes
-
This PLA is manufactured in-house by Prusa Research.
-
1.75 mm filament is produced with a precision of ±0.02 mm (±0.03 for blends).
-
Before printing, ensure that the heatbed surface is clean, as described in the 3D Printing Handbook.
-
If you choose a 2 kg spool, please download and print a holder for 2 kg spools, as it will not fit on the standard holder provided.
-
Follow the instructions in Prusa's article if you need to dry the filament.
