Bamboo ABS-GF
Bambu ABS-GF is a glass fiber reinforced ABS filament, improved both mechanically and aesthetically. Compared to regular ABS, ABS-GF outperforms in strength, stiffness, temperature resistance and dimensional stability, while being less prone to deformation and shrinkage. Glass fiber provides a smooth matte finish with micro-gloss, which blurs layer lines. ABS-GF is ideal for both mechanical parts and decorative objects due to its water-repellent properties, abrasion resistance, durability and vibrant colors.
Increased strength and stiffness
ABS-GF surpasses regular ABS in both strength and stiffness, making it perfect for parts that must bear load or resist bending.

| Property | ABS | ABS-GF | Improvement % |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stiffness (Flexural Modulus - XY) | 1880 MPa | 2860 MPa | 52.1% |
| Strength (Bending Strength - XY) | 64 MPa | 68 MPa | 6.3% |
| Layer strength (Bending strength - Z) | 39 MPa | 46 MPa | 17.9% |
| Heat resistance (HDT, 0.45 MPa) | 87 °C | 99 °C | 13.8% |
Greater dimensional stability
The glass fiber reinforcement gives ABS-GF better dimensional stability than regular ABS, minimizing shrinkage and deformation during printing. This makes the material ideal for complex mechanical assemblies or geometric components.

Sample/test: Model size (L B H): 240 50 20 mm³ (XY direction)
Fill density: 25%

Nice matte finish
The uniform matte surface, combined with almost invisible layer lines, gives ABS-GF a smooth appearance, making it ideal for decorative and finely detailed parts.

Water-repellent and durable
With improved water repellency and durability, Bambu ABS-GF is ideal for printing long-lasting production and household items, such as mechanical enclosures, connectors, and molds.

Printing tips
-
Drying: 80°C for 8 hours. Dry the filament before printing to achieve higher print quality.
-
Minimizing Warping: Avoid printing large models with high infill density. Use printers with enclosures and make sure the build plate is properly applied with glue for better adhesion before printing. Set lower print speed and higher heatbed temperature. For more details, see: Common print quality problems and solutions on WIKI.
-
Odors during printing: As with ABS, strong and unpleasant odors can be released during printing. Make sure the printer is in a well-ventilated area and use printers with an enclosure.
