Panchroma™ Matte PLA

The next generation of matte PLA filament

Bioplastic formulation for easy printing
Panchroma™ Matte is a bioplastic-based 3D printing filament designed to set a new standard for PLA. It offers exceptional ease of use, reliable print quality, fast print speeds, and stable performance on a wide range of printers.

Beautiful matte finish and vibrant colors
This filament provides a smooth, matte surface and is available in a range of rich, vibrant colors. It's perfect for projects where appearance is as important as performance.

Renamed for clarity
Formerly known as PolyTerra PLA, Panchroma™ Matte offers the same great color selection and print quality – just with a clearer and more intuitive name.

Ideal for everyday and exhibition prints
Choose Panchroma™ Matte for beautiful matte finish prints that are easy to produce – perfect for prototypes, models, decorative items, and daily 3D printing projects.

Panchroma™ Matte PLA is slightly more abrasive than regular PLA.

Print Requirements
None! It works excellently on any standard 3D printer.

If you are using an older printer model, however, it is recommended to print slower.

Please note that Panchroma™ Matte is slightly more abrasive than standard glossy PLA. If you print a lot with it, it may be beneficial to upgrade to a hardened nozzle.

FAQ - Panchroma™ Matte PLA

Is there a difference between Panchroma™ Matte PLA and PolyTerra™ PLA?
No! It's the same great material – just under a new product name.

Is Panchroma™ Matte more abrasive than regular glossy PLA?
Yes, Panchroma™ Matte is slightly more abrasive – however, not to an extent that necessitates the use of a hardened nozzle. If you print a lot with Panchroma™ Matte, it may be beneficial to upgrade to a hardened nozzle for extended durability.

Is Panchroma™ Matte PLA biodegradable?
The short answer is no – it doesn't just decompose by discarding it in nature. Panchroma™ Matte PLA requires specific conditions for decomposition, which can be achieved in industrial composting facilities.
We have developed a formula that can decompose faster than regular PLA while maintaining excellent printing properties. It's a step towards improving the lifecycle of PLA in our industry.
(See composting report and more detailed information here).

Is the material food safe?
Unfortunately, we have no data confirming that this material is food safe. Currently, no 3D printing materials on the market are FDA-approved as food safe.
The reason is that it's not the raw material that is certified, but the finished object. Factors such as shape, print bed, the environment it's manufactured in, etc., play a role. Therefore, there is currently no real FDA certification for 3D printing.

Is the material AMS compatible?
Yes! All Panchroma™ spools now feature reinforced edges, which work optimally in AMS systems.

Is the material recyclable?
Unfortunately, there is no good solution for recycling PLA at the moment. Our cardboard spools are biodegradable, but the PLA itself cannot be easily recycled.

What is Panchroma™?
Panchroma™ is a new family of PLA-based polymer composites. The formulations are tailored to each color and surface finish to deliver the best aesthetics and printability.
They can be printed reliably on any FFF/FDM printer with common PLA settings.
All Panchroma™ products are PLA, except those marked as “experimental”.

Can I mix different effects in a HueForge print?
Yes! This material can be combined with all other Panchroma™ effects, except those indicated as “experimental”.

Are Polymaker spools compatible with AnyCubic ACE?
Some users have experienced compatibility issues – results may vary.
