High precision on the Z-axis with smooth PEI plate
The use of a smooth PEI plate contributes to improved precision in the Z-axis during the printing process. This ensures high accuracy and uniformity in the vertical dimension.
This type of build plate is particularly suitable for printing tasks where fit and precise alignment are crucial – e.g. technical components with tight tolerances and requirements for precise alignment.

Smooth and matte surface finish
The specially selected matte PEI coating gives the underside of the print a smooth and matte texture. This improves the visual quality and gives a more professional and consistent look to the finished item.

Compatible with many different filaments
The PEI surface supports printing with both common materials like PLA, TPU, and PETG as well as filaments that require higher temperatures like ABS and Nylon.
Note: When using filaments other than PLA, it is recommended to use glue to prevent the PEI sheet from cracking.

Reliable magnetic attachment to prevent warping
The Bambu Smooth PEI plate is equipped with a 0.5mm thick spring steel plate, which strengthens the magnetic adhesion. This helps prevent warping and ensures optimal print quality during 3D printing. This feature is especially valuable for larger models and materials prone to warping such as ABS, PC and Nylon.
Note: The smooth PEI sheet cannot be removed from the build plate.

Important considerations when using the Smooth PEI sheet

When using the Smooth PEI plate on the A1 model, there is an increased risk of the plate curling at the corners or the print detaching from the plate. This is due to the thicker PEI surface, which increases the distance to the magnets under the heatbed, thereby reducing the magnetic attraction.

If bubbles appear under the smooth PEI surface, heating on the heatbed at at least 80°C for several hours can help remove them.

Dust and grease on the build plate will reduce adhesion. It is therefore recommended to clean the plate regularly with mild detergent and water to maintain the best adhesion.

Never use acetone to clean the smooth PEI surface as it can damage the material.

Always wait a few minutes before removing the print to allow the board to cool. This makes it easier to remove the print and protects the board from damage, extending its lifespan.

Gentle sanding with fine sandpaper (600 grit recommended) can help restore adhesion if it becomes poor.

The Smooth PEI sheet is a consumable part that will wear and degrade over time. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects upon receipt - not cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents or cracks.
