Two surfaces in one building board – Textured and Smooth
Get the benefits of two different surfaces in one build plate. One side has a textured PEI surface, while the other side is smooth PEI.
The build plate is made of 0.5mm magnetic stainless steel, which improves magnetic adhesion and reduces the risk of warping. This ensures optimal print quality when 3D printing.

High precision on the Z axis
The smooth PEI surface contributes to increased precision in the Z-axis during the printing process, ensuring high accuracy and consistent results in the vertical dimension.

Smooth and matte surface finish
The specially selected matte PEI coating gives the bottom side of your print a smooth and matte finish, improving the appearance and providing a more professional result.

Textured PEI surface: Excellent adhesion and high durability

Optimal first-coat adhesion and improved wear resistance
The textured PEI surface provides increased durability and improves adhesion between the print and the build plate – often without the use of glue.
*Note: In some cases, glue may be necessary when using specific filament types.

Automatic release when cooling
The textured surface withstands repeated heating and cooling cycles. When the heated bed reaches room temperature, the print easily detaches from the plate.

Important considerations when using Bambu Dual-Texture PEI sheet

• Cleaning for optimal adhesion
  Dust and grease on the build plate can reduce adhesion. It is recommended to clean the surface regularly with mild detergent and water to maintain optimal adhesion.

• Adjusting the heat bed temperature
  Increasing the heatbed temperature improves adhesion. Users should adjust the temperature according to filament type and printing needs to achieve the best result.

• Restore adhesion with sanding
  Adhesion on the textured PEI surface can be restored by gentle sanding with fine sandpaper (600 grit recommended).

• Removing bubbles on smooth PEI
  If air bubbles appear under the smooth PEI surface, heating the build plate at at least 80°C for several hours can help eliminate them.

• Important: Avoid acetone
  Never clean the Bambu Dual-Texture PEI board with acetone – it will damage the PEI surface.

• Use only original glue
  Bambu Lab recommends only using their official adhesive products on the build plate. Use of third-party adhesives is at your own risk and may cause damage not covered by the warranty.

• Wait for cooling before removing print
  Always let the board cool for a few minutes before removing the finished print. This protects the surface and extends the life of the build plate.

• Consumables and warranty
  The Bambu Dual-Texture PEI sheet is considered a consumable part and will gradually wear out. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects upon receipt - not cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents or cracks.

X1 series / P1 series / A1

1) Adjust the plate
Position the build plate so that it aligns with the fixed positioning points on the heated bed – with the plate name facing you.

2) Attach the plate
Carefully lower the plate and allow it to attach to the magnetic platform.

A1 mini

1) Adjust the plate
Position the build plate so that it aligns with the positioning points – the name on the plate should be facing you.

2) Attach the plate
Lower the plate and let it attach via the magnetic surface.
