E3D x DiamondBack HotEnds for Bambu Lab H2S, H2C, H2D and P2S

The E3D x DiamondBack HotEnd is an officially approved upgrade for the Bambu Lab H2 and P2 series. By integrating a solid polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tip with E3D's precision engineering, this HotEnd offers unmatched wear resistance and a thermal conductivity of 543 W/mK. It enables continuous printing of highly abrasive composite materials without nozzle wear, while achieving exceptional layer adhesion.

Highlights

  • Solid polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tip for extreme wear resistance.
  • Officially approved for Bambu Lab models H2S, H2C, H2D, and P2S.
  • High thermal conductivity (543 W/mK) ensures superior layer bonding.
  • Compatible with carbon fiber, fiberglass, metal, and ceramic filaments.
  • Polished diamond surface reduces friction and provides a natural "ironing effect".
  • Direct drop-in replacement, compatible with standard Bambu Lab profiles.

Technical Construction and Materials

The core of the DiamondBack series is the solid PCD insert. Unlike coated nozzles, the tip consists of thousands of diamond crystals sintered together. This creates a surface hardness far exceeding that of hardened steel or tungsten carbide. The material's thermal properties ensure efficient energy transfer to the filament, often allowing printing at lower temperatures while maintaining high volumetric flow.

Performance and Maintenance

The polished diamond tip has very low surface energy, preventing molten plastic from adhering to the outside of the nozzle and reducing the risk of clogs. The uniform heat distribution improves the tensile strength of printed parts through optimized molecular bonding between layers. The nozzle maintains its precise geometry over time, even with continuous use of abrasive materials such as carbon fiber (CF) or glow-in-the-dark filaments.

Installation and Calibration

These HotEnds are designed as direct replacements for the original components and require no hardware modifications. During installation, a standard calibration in Bambu Studio (temperature tower and retraction test) is recommended to optimize settings for the diamond's high thermal efficiency. The product supports temperatures up to 350°C and is available in diameters of 0.20 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.60 mm, and 0.80 mm.
