Colorfabb LW-PLA
1.75mm 750g
Colorfabb's lightweight PLA (LW-PLA) is their best filament for printing RC planes, cosplay, and other light objects. The parts are feather-light, yet retain good strength and are easy to cut, trim, and sand. If the weight of your parts is important to you, this is the filament for you.

Key features:
- Lightweight material
- Ideal for RC planes
- Matte finish
colorFabb LW-PLA
Advantages
Reduces the weight of printed parts by up to 65% compared to regular PLA.
You can control the amount of extruded material by regulating the print temperature. Around 230 °C, LW-PLA begins to foam and can increase its volume by almost 3 times.
With one spool of LW-PLA, you can print as much as with 3 regular PLA spools, thanks to the 3 times lower material factor/flow.
Easy to cut, trim, sand, and takes paint very well.
LW-PLA (Natural, Black, Gray Silver & Red) hides layer lines very well.
Disadvantages
The material can "ooze" during non-printing movements – this is normal and cannot be entirely avoided.
The color becomes lighter when the material is in its maximum foamed state, compared to the non-foamed state, which gives a deeper and more saturated color.
This is what our customers say about the material:
- "...A must-have material for RC planes! Light, easy to print, can be cut and trimmed too"
- "...LW-PLA is perhaps the most ingenious 3D printer filament on the market."
- "...So far I've used it for cosplay, and the weight reduction is amazing"
- "...This filament creates strong, lightweight parts with a nice surface finish, and it sands very well (better than regular PLA)"
- "...I have used this filament for various decorative prints that need to be worn, and the weight reduction is a huge advantage!"
- "...Ideal for drone spare parts"
