Important information about nozzles
To achieve the best performance (speed and efficiency with minimal waste) with the MMU3 unit on both MK4/S and CORE One printers, we recommend using the standard nozzle instead of the high flow variant.
If you order a separate MMU3 for your MK4S or CORE One, you're covered: the MMU3 kit will include a standard quick-change nozzle.
For those who purchase the MK4S/CORE One and MMU3 together in one package, both nozzle types will be included.
If you choose an assembled MK4S as part of an MMU3 bundle, the standard nozzle will already be installed for your convenience.

Thanks to optimized firmware and smart design, the MMU3 offers lightning-fast filament changes – typically between 35 and 45 seconds. Since a multi-material print often requires thousands of changes, you save many hours of printing overall compared to competing systems.

EFFICIENT OPERATION

The MMU3 minimizes color contamination during filament changes through an intelligent cleaning method. When the filament is changed, the printer performs a process that softens and removes the material from the nozzle along with any residue. The result is clean color transitions with minimal wasted filament, which is discharged exclusively into a compact, partially hollow “wipe tower” next to the object. All waste is collected in one place – no plastic residue all over the place.

LESS PLASTIC WASTE

We offer several options to save filament and reduce plastic waste. PrusaSlicer features wipe-to-infill , where the interior of the object is used to clean the nozzle instead of a separate tower, and wipe-to-object , where another printed object acts as a cleaning target. The latter produces a colorful result – perfect for functional parts or items that will still need to be painted later.

FULL COMPATIBILITY – NO VENDOR LOCK-IN

The MMU3's spool heads are designed to fit many types of filament spools – even large 2kg spools – ensuring broad compatibility with third-party filament. You can even download or design your own spool heads for, for example, paper-based spools, which break more easily.

LITE VS ENCLOSED VERSION – DIFFERENCES

The MMU3 for Prusa CORE One is available in two versions: Lite and Enclosed .

• The Lite version mounts on top of the printer with the top cover removed. It's quick and easy, but you lose the benefits of a closed printer. Good solution for those who want to switch MMU3 between MK4S and CORE One.

• The Enclosed version has a modified top plate with a feedthrough for the PTFE tubing, so the printer remains fully enclosed. Perfect for stable printing environments and materials that require controlled temperatures.
