The Bambu Lab AMS Filament Buffer helps manage slack and provides a smooth path between external spools and the AMS. It reduces tangles, stabilizes retraction and feeding, and increases operational reliability for multi-material printing or larger spools.

Overview

The filament buffer is an accessory required when used with a single AMS unit. Its function is to provide a buffering effect for the filament. The connection consists of a 4-pin cable with 3 mm pitch and snap-terminal input, and a 6-pin cable with 3 mm pitch and open snap-terminal output.

X1 series and P1 series

Note

When using multiple AMS units, an AMS Hub is required instead of a filament buffer.
