PolyDryer™ Box XL: Sealed storage for large filament spools

Superior sealing performance

The PolyDryer™ Box XL features a high-performance sealing design, verified through water leakage, smoke leakage, and long-term moisture exposure tests. It delivers a sealing performance on par with the standard PolyDryer Box without degradation despite its larger internal volume.

Print without breaking the seal

The integrated filament feeding system allows direct printing from the sealed box. The filament is fed through sealed airlocks, maintaining the enclosed environment throughout the printing process. You no longer need to open the storage box every time you start a print job.

Always monitor filament humidity

A built-in hygrometer displays real-time humidity, and the included color-changing silica gel desiccant bag (up to 110g) provides an instant visual check of the moisture level inside the box.

Built for 3kg spools

Designed for spools up to 3kg (Ø300 × 118 mm). The Box XL reduces the need for spool changes and keeps the print workflow efficient – ideal for print farms and demanding users working with large or long-duration print jobs.

Easier to transport with an integrated handle, easier to load with a design optimized for heavy spools, and easier to open with a new locking system. The Box XL was developed based on real user feedback.

The Box XL can be integrated with the PolyDryer Dry Dock via an optional Dock Adapter (sold separately) for active drying. Compatible with filament diameters of 1.75 mm, 2.85 mm, and 3.00 mm.

Is PolyDryer™ Box XL a filament dryer?
No. It is a sealed storage solution designed to maintain filament stability. As part of the PolyDryer ecosystem, it can be integrated with the PolyDryer Dry Dock via an optional adapter and is designed to be compatible with future Dry Dock solutions as well.

Is the adapter included with PolyDryer™ Box XL?

No. The PolyDryer™ Box XL Dock Adapter is sold separately as an accessory ($7.99). A printable file for the adapter can also be found on Printables or MakerWorld.

Does the XL provide the same drying performance as the smaller Box + Dock setups?

The XL is optimized for high-capacity sealed storage. Compatibility with the Dock provides additional flexibility but is not designed for high-performance drying. Due to the larger capacity, the overall drying efficiency may be lower than when using the PolyDryer Dry Dock with the standard PolyDryer Box. Actual performance may vary depending on material and environment.

What filament sizes are supported?

Supports spools up to 3kg (Ø300 × 118 mm). Compatible with filament diameters of 1.75 / 2.85 / 3.00 mm.

Why choose the XL Box over the standard PolyDryer Box?

Can I use the Box XL without the Dry Dock?

Yes. The Box XL is primarily a sealed storage solution. It includes a built-in hygrometer and color-changing desiccant, which passively help maintain low humidity. Integration with the Dry Dock is optional and used for active drying.
