Dual Nozzle System
Stop overthinking support – start removing it easily and cleanly.
The main nozzle prints the object itself. The secondary nozzle handles supports¹. The X2D leaves all the difficult support work to an auxiliary nozzle with its own material. Enclose steep overhangs, fabric-like folds, and internal channels with full support – then remove it cleanly and easily.

More color, more detail, and more fun
Hard and soft – in one print
Combine PLA and TPU in the same model. Create ready-to-use bags, grips, and protective edges directly from the print bed.

Change colors instantly
The dual nozzles switch in a split second. Get faster color changes, cleaner transitions, and significantly less waste².

Finer. Sharper. True to design.
Press. Switch. Done.
Unlike traditional motor-driven systems, the X2D features a gear and release mechanism integrated into the print head. The nozzle switching arm activates the release, which drives an internal gear system and switches the nozzle. No extra weight – just a clean and precise switch.
A lighter print head means less inertia and fewer vibrations. Even at full speed, surfaces remain flawless – all the way up.

Cool it down – before gravity makes it sag.
Two air intakes are always better than one. Newly extruded filament is soft, but the X2D immediately flushes the chamber with cool air from dual intakes on the left and right sides. This constant air exchange stabilizes each layer for low-temperature filaments like PLA and cools each line at precisely the right time.
Even at difficult angles, overhangs remain sharp, and bridges stand clean and stable.

It's not enough that it's hot – the heat must be evenly distributed.
The X2D combines a 300 °C nozzle with an actively heated 65 °C chamber – hot enough for most engineering filaments like ABS, ASA, and nylon.
But it's not just about temperature – the active chamber evenly distributes heat, ensuring strong layer adhesion from edge to edge. Your larger engineering prints will be both strong and flat.

Calibration that adapts to wear and material changes
Most printers calibrate flow with a single K-factor and use it in all situations. Bambu Lab does not. Flow Dynamics Calibration³ builds a time-varying, non-linear model of your entire extrusion system.
So whether there are small residues in the nozzle, gradual nozzle wear, or slightly damp filament, the system detects it, calibrates, and compensates automatically. Smooth surfaces and sharp edges are no longer a matter of luck – they become repeatable.

PMSM servo system: Smoother surfaces start inside the extruder
Extruder gears "gnaw" at the filament as it advances, creating small pressure fluctuations that can be seen as fine lines on the surface. Exclusive to Bambu Lab, the PMSM servo system⁵ counteracts this in real-time. With resistance and position measurements at 20 kHz, the system continuously adjusts the electromagnetic torque and smooths out every micro-oscillation before it reaches the surface.
Consistent surface quality
Extrusion pressure is precisely controlled, so flow remains stable, and the surface becomes clean and smooth – print after print.

Compensation provides sharp corners and clean details
Ringing and ghosting can blur edges at high speed. Active vibration compensation eliminates these effects in real-time – so edges remain sharp, no matter how fast you print.

- For optimal print quality, it is recommended to use the main hotend to print these filaments.
- Printer voltage specifications vary depending on the sales region. Please check the label next to the power socket on the printer before use to ensure the supplied voltage matches the specified voltage.
- To ensure the heatbed quickly reaches the required temperature, the printer will operate at maximum power for approximately 3–5 minutes.
Product Variation Notice
Depending on the production batch, your X2D may or may not have a silicone wiper near the nozzle changing area. Its function has since been rendered via a software update, so both versions perform identically.

FAQ
1. What are the main differences between the X2D and X1C?
The X2D is the next chapter after the X1C. It adds a dual nozzle system for up to 25-color printing, an actively heated chamber (up to 65 °C) for engineering filaments, a servo extruder with real-time flow measurement, filament tangle detection, extended AI monitoring with both live view and toolhead cameras, and support for motion accuracy calibration based on Vision Encoder. Everything that made the X1C good – now refined and further developed.
For more product specifications, please refer to this page.
2. What is the maximum print speed and acceleration for the X2D?
When printing with the main nozzle, the maximum movement speed is 1000 mm/s, and the maximum acceleration is 20,000 mm/s².
3. Are the left and right hotends identical?
Yes, the left and right hotends are identical in both structure and components and can be used interchangeably.
4. What is the function of the chamber exhaust fan at the back of the X2D?
It actively extracts air from the chamber. In cooling mode (PLA and other low-temperature filaments), it works with an adaptive airflow system to dissipate heat and remove fumes. After printing with high-temperature filaments, "Purge air at print end" can be activated to remove residual fumes – potentially via a ventilation hose to the outside.
5. What is the maximum number of AMS units the X2D can connect?
- Single Hotend: Up to 4 AMS 2 Pro and 8 AMS HT (total 12 units, 24 slots)
- Dual Hotend: Enables up to 25-color printing with maximum AMS configuration
6. The X2D buffer has two 6-pin ports on top. Can it connect two AMS/AMS 2 Pro/AMS HT simultaneously?
No. The two ports have different purposes:
- One is for AMS/AMS 2 Pro/AMS HT
- The other is for the chamber exhaust fan
To connect multiple AMS units, they must be daisy-chained with 6-pin cables.
7. Can the X2D use the AMS hub?
No, it is not compatible as the interface types are different.
8. Is the X2D’s build plate compatible with X/P/A series printers?
The X2D supports all current Bambu Lab 256 × 256 mm build plates. It does not recognize 1st generation build plates. If the printer does not detect the plate type, you can manually select "Ignore" or disable plate detection in the settings.
9. Does the X2D support high-flow nozzles?
Yes. High-flow hotends maintain print quality while significantly increasing print speed, which can reduce print time by up to 30% compared to standard nozzles.
10. What is the advantage of two extruders?
- Main Extruder (in toolhead): Provides precise flow control
- Auxiliary Extruder (mounted top rear): Acts as an external extruder, feeding filament from the buffer to the toolhead via a PTFE tube
This saves space in the toolhead and maximizes the available print volume.
