Magigoo Pro Metal

Magigoo Pro Metal is a high-performance adhesive stick developed for printing metal-polymer composites, especially BASF Ultrafuse® 316L. Its water-soluble and non-flammable formula ensures strong first-layer adhesion and easy release after cooling – protecting delicate green parts from damage.

Key Features:
• Specifically designed for BASF Ultrafuse 316L metal filament
• Water-soluble for easy and residue-free cleaning
• Reliable adhesion at 95–105 °C bed temperature
• Enables “pop-off” release without tools or damage
• Safe: non-hazardous, non-flammable, approved for post-processing
• Precise pen-like applicator for even application

Build plate adhesive for Ultrafuse 316L metal filament

WHAT:
MAGIGOO Metal is designed as a professional first-layer adhesive for BASF Ultrafuse® 316L. Magigoo Metal is non-hazardous, non-flammable, and approved for use in the post-processing phases of BASF Ultrafuse® 316L. It also makes it easy to remove green parts from the build plate after printing.

WHY:
BASF Ultrafuse 316L enables the production of solid parts in 316L stainless steel using desktop FDM 3D printers and a sintering process. The Ultrafuse® 316L filament consists of highly refined metal particles embedded in thermoplastic binders. As a filament, this metal-polymer composite presents none of the occupational health or safety risks usually associated with handling fine metal powders. This makes 3D printing of stainless steel both affordable, simple, and safe.

Due to the filament's thermoplastic binders and varying cooling during FDM printing, parts printed with BASF Ultrafuse® 316L are susceptible to warping. Additionally, green parts are fragile, and care must be taken during removal to avoid deformation. Magigoo Metal ensures reliable adhesion during printing and allows for easy removal of the printed part by immersing the build plate in water, reducing the risk of damage to the green part.

HOW:
When using Magigoo Metal with BASF Ultrafuse® 316L, a build plate temperature of 95–105 °C is recommended, but specific printing conditions may vary between printers.

  1. Shake the bottle.

  2. Apply to the desired area by pressing the nib against the build plate (this activates the internal valve) and spread as needed.

  3. Print according to filament and printer manufacturer's recommendations.

  4. After printing: Submerge the entire build plate in water, or moisten the area around the part with water. After a short time – typically 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the size of the part – the part should detach itself or be removable with a gentle twist.

  5. Clean any residue: Use a damp cloth to wipe.

SAFETY:
Using this product with filaments other than BASF Ultrafuse 316L may cause excessively strong adhesion and damage the build surface. Follow the instructions in the data sheets for best results.
